Best purchase all year
I purchased this pack online after researching many brands. The price ultimately sold me on this particular back pack and I am SO glad I went with this one! I was kinda expecting a pack that looked "cheaper" than the others because it was so much less. (The other one I was debating upon was $170) Also, the previous reviews made me nervous about how it would fit but they either had big problems figuring out the straps or just never wore a back pack before because I had NO problem with this. I am over 6 feet tall and on the large size for a woman so I usually have issues with things fitting my body size. I have a long torso and this pack actually fits me the way it is supposed to! I also have a chest larger than Pamela Anderson's and I have no problem buckling the chest strap :o) I don't know why the other person had such a problem because I still have room to tighten it as it doesn't even go over my chest but above it. Almost perfect Bjorn!
My husband and I started out with the regular Bjorn, which hurt our backs after about 30 minutes. Then we tried the Bjorn Active, which made a huge improvement in terms of comfort, but we were unable to wear it in warm California weather because it was so big and bulky. Finally Bjorn figured it out - combine the Air and the Active -and you have the Synergy. I just wish it wasn't so ridiculously expensive ($150 for a mesh carrier mass produced in Latvia, c'mon!), I wish it came in other colors (navy, red, olive, like the Actives), and I wish Bjorn would finally develop waist support so the baby's weight wasn't carried so much on the parent's shoulders and back. But until then, this is a great carrier for newborns to 6 months old, especially if your young baby (like mine) resists slings and froggy-style carries in mei tais.

Overall a good carrier
After doing lots of research between this and the Ergo, I purchased this today to replace my original Bjorn. I decided on this because I like my other Baby Bjorn, as does my son, and didn't like that the Ergo required an infant insert (which seems hot for summer and a bit complicated to use) until the baby has good head support (3 to 4 months) and didn't allow baby to face out (something my daughter loved when she was still using the Bjorn).Anyway, this afternoon I wore my 7 week old son for about an hour while doing errands in the house. Keeping in mind it is 97 degrees outside and we do not have air conditioning. He seemed very cool when in the carrier and also when I took him out. After being in the original Bjorn for that long, he is always sweaty and I have to change his clothes, poor guy!I also felt it was comfortable for me as far as breathe-ability, but did start feeling a little "hot" in the lumbar area which doesn't breathe well.As I...

I love, love, love it!
I got mine cheaper at Target, but this is an amazing carrier! I've tried numerous slings and wraps before this one and found them to be too warm, too difficult to use, uncomfortable for myself or the baby, or incredibly expensive. This one is perfect. Very comfortable, reasonably priced, attractive, and my baby loves it. We walked around the museum today for 2 hours and were both very happy. It was our first time using it and we got it adjusted in under a minute. Stopped twice in the museum to breastfeed and found it very easy to get the baby in and out. Straps can be loosened or tightened with one hand. Definitely not one of those items where "you get what you pay for." Wish this had been available 2 years ago! GET IT! You'll love it. Great, inexpensive carrier!
My husband and I wanted a carrier that our 3 1/2 month old daughter could face in or out in. I had seen this carrier at Walmart, and decided to read some reviews on it here. It was a bit cheaper on Amazon than at the store, and the reviews were good. Literally while I was reading about it, I received an Amazon Mom $10 coupon in the mail, which made the carrier about $3, so I decided there was no reason NOT to order it!The verdict is that we (my daughter and I, both) love this carrier! She has been in it in both positions, and was happy both times. Currently, she is napping in it, facing me. This is very possibly the first real nap she's ever taken in a baby carrier...she never seemed happy and comfortable enough in other ones to really nap.This carrier is very padded and secure. It is very easy to adjust the size for both of us, and it doesn't feel like she would tip out of it. I love the way it comes up to support her head when she is facing me. Top to learn more

This carrier is the best! My son is child #5 and I have had a carrier for each one. This last one is definately the best! Not wanting to spend this much money on a "carrier" of all things, I researched and considered carefully before purchasing this. All reviews and reports were accurate...This is definately worth the extra dollars.The ease of use is remarkable. I can get baby in and out all by myself. From the day after Luca and I arrived home from the hospital, we were out for our daily walks. Love the BB Carrier with extra-long straps!
My husband (6' 1") insisted on the Baby Bjoern with the extra-long straps. I am happy to report that it is magnificent, even for short people! (I'm only 5' 3".) It converts to fit either one of us quickly and easily and I have always felt that our son was snug and secure inside. Now that he's older (6 months), he LOVES to face outward and see where we're headed. We toured Colonial Williamsburg (lots of walking and wandering in and out of colonial buildings), quickly and easily with the BB. While other mommies struggled with their strollers and couldn't get into many of the buildings, we whisked through everything safely and easily.I know many people are concerned that they won't use it enough to justify the price - my response is that you need to make yourself use it! Over the course of three children we have had FIVE carriers: Two slings, a Baby Bjorn, a Snugli and the Ergo Baby.The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it's easy to get smaller infants into it. In the first 3 months, this was my favorite carrier.The "Air" version is basically the "Original" with much more breathable fabric. Unfortunately this doesn't address the biggest shortcoming of the carrier.My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than ~10 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. My daughter LOVES the Ergo
and so do I! I started out with the Moby wrap and that worked fairly well for us, but it was a hot to wear, inconvenient to wrap when out and about, and tricky (but possible) to nurse in. I knew I wanted something else, but baby carriers are expensive and one could easily spend a fortune trying out all the variations.We decided on the Ergo and we couldn't be happier. We've had it for six months now and it is the number one thing I could not live without as far as all baby gear is concerned. I too was worried about her only facing inwards, but she has never minded and she seems to prefer it. She holds on like a little koala bear as we go about our daily business. Unlike the Moby, she isn't flat against my chest, she's sitting, so that she can easily check out the scenery by looking to the sides.When she was big enough--probably in the neighborhood of 5.5 or 6 months, I started wearing her on my back and that is great! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Okay- like almost all other new moms, I got a Baby Bjorn, and it was fine, until my daughter hit about 12 lbs. Then my shoulders started to hurt when I walked with her and I read that it wasn't very good for baby's spine to be held by their crotch. So a friend of mine had an Ergo, and I tried it.Wow, all of the weight was on my hips- not my back, and baby was actually sitting in a little pouch, not in a harness. I love this carrier!!! We have a Baby Bjorn (Original) as well as an Ergo baby carrier. I think both have their advantages and disadvantages, which I will try to explain below.We purchased the Ergo carrier before our daughter was born based on the recommendation of a friend. However, we found that she could not sit in it comfortably at first. Before your baby can straddle your torso (until about 4 months/15 lbs), you have to put both legs on one side. I watched the instructional DVD several times and tried to place her into the carrier as comfortably as possible, but she did not like it at all. It didn't look comfortable either with her back twisted and body squished. This is when we decided to try the original Baby Bjorn carrier.Our daughter loved being in the Bjorn (facing in or out). I'm a bit compulsive so we own quite a few carriers. For the purposes of this review, I'll skip slings, and stick to backpack style shoulder strap carriers. We own the Baby Bjorn Active Carrier, and we all love it! However, it is too hot for summer heat, so we opted to purchase this item--the Baby Bjorn Air Carrier.
